![]() ![]() Just realize you can win most games more efficiently. A lot of players break 100 turns often and that's fine in SP, as long as it's fun to you. If I'm well into the 90s I tend to start asking what I could improve on for next time, and if I break 100 turns I usually consider it a "bad game" for me personally. ![]() Sooner (20-65 turns) if it's a small planet or I do an easier Empire Mode win condition. I think 70-85 turns avg is the sweet spot for winning my games via killing everyone who opposes me (generally medium/large planets with 8-12 commanders, a couple will ally). As long as you can defend your domain, you should consider more colonies, but keep in mind after building ~3 colonizers the cosmite cost starts getting really high and often it's better to save the cosmite to mod your army / absorb enemy colonies at that point. This game has no penalty to colony spam besides rising cosmite costs on colonizers, while they give massive benefits. The main metrics I look for if I want to know if my build order or decisions are working well for me are:Īt least 4 colonies by turn 30 (your HQ + bribe one neutral settlement + build 2), if you don't at least have this you're not playing very efficiently imo. With easier settings and things I'd expect easier early game colony spam and site clears in particular. extreme AIs and high world intensity, Empire Mode +difficulty mods, and playing on 'nightmarish' planets. Set build orders aren't as important in this game as say Starcraft due to RNG, I'd be willing to almost bet money your main issue like most new players is related to knowing when to expand and how aggressive to be.Ĭaveat since there are a lot of game modes/settings: Below is my personal opinion based on 1k+ hrs vs. If you want to improve, I think average game length in turns (RNG aside) is a good indicator how efficiently you're playing in SP as the AIs are relatively predictable. ![]() If you're playing SP just play however you find fun and gets you the win. ![]()
